About Artist

Oba is an Abuja based record producer whose musical journey started in 2003 when he started writing rap songs. In 2005 he was signed to inferno city record label which was owned by his friend’s brother baby. He was signed with then label mates K-rimes, Bash boi, flowsmith and Elbee the Ghost. Oba evolved into a producer in 2007 and then began engineering sessions.

After graduating from university in 2010, he also became a videographer while working as a sound engineer. In 2013 Oba ventured into app technology which led him to be part of a group that creates an app called Oga Taxi, the first ever e-hailing app in the history of Nigeria. His debut mixtape was scheduled to drop in 2013 but he scrapped the project!

ABOUT PROJECT

This project was highly anticipated as he proved to be an elite rapper on the streets of Abuja. He won’t frequently go to gardens to meet other underground artists where he’ll freestyle for hours. He went on to work with Sirdauda, as his engineer and frequent collaborator. Oba made an announcement out of the blue in the last quarter of 2023. He finally decided to drop Long Live the King but not as a mixtape but an Album.

He has teased 2 singles, Toxic and sunshine featuring a super talented artist call Noni and Elbee the ghost. His musical composition is frequently compared to Kanye West. Although his main influence is Quicy Jones. He also names Dr Dre, Don Jazzy, Jay sleek, Timbaland, Pharell, Dr Frabs, Eldee, Mike dean, No I.d, Havoc, J dilla, Rza and Kanye West as core influences. His Debut Album is set to Drop in November 2024 and is highly anticipated.
